Severe Storms possible into the weekend.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk on Friday. There’s a chance of isolated severe thunderstorms on Friday night in areas ranging from the Ozark’s to the Red River Valley in southeast Oklahoma and northeast Texas.

On Friday night, it’s likely that we’ll see more thunderstorms developing at higher altitudes and spreading out. This is due to changes in the atmosphere, with falling heights in the middle levels covering the area. These storms might bring a risk of isolated severe hail.

Saturday has been highlighted with a 15% marker for severe weather as well. Saturday, the weather conditions are expected to become a bit unstable in areas stretching from southeast Texas to the Ark-La-Tex and Ark-La-Miss regions. This is happening because of a cold front moving southeastward. As the atmosphere changes, there’s a good chance of widespread thunderstorm development in the warm region, both along and ahead of the front in the afternoon. The strength of the wind closer to the ground will vary, and this affects how likely severe weather might be in different areas. While there’s some uncertainty about where exactly severe weather might occur, there’s enough indication to highlight a 15 percent risk in a broad area. The forecast has been updated to include a larger region in the Mid-South.
