Hurricane Conditions to Begin Along Gulf Coast
Hurricane conditions will begin along parts of the Gulf Coast today as Zeta nears.
A Hurricane Warning is in effect from Morgan City, La to the Mississippi/Alabama border. Life-threatening storm surge and hurricane force winds are possible in this area.
Along with strong winds, heavy rainfall and localized flooding are likely. A few tornadoes cannot be ruled out.
As of Wednesday morning, Zeta is a Category 1 hurricane with max winds around 90 mph. The storm is sitting about 235 miles south-southwest of New Orleans.
Landfall is expected in southeastern Louisiana sometime this afternoon.
