Hurricane Watch out for Northwestern Bahamas
A hurricane watch has been posted for the northwestern Bahamas as Dorian continues to track closer.
As of Friday morning, Dorian was a strong category 2 hurricane with maximum winds of 110 mph. It is expected to strengthen into a category 3 hurricane later today.
Dorian is still forecast to make landfall along the southern Atlantic Florida coastline sometime late this Labor Day weekend. The hurricane is expected to be category 4 with forecast winds near 140 mph.
Central and southern Florida should be preparing for a strong, dangerous hurricane. Remember to have enough food, water, and medical supplies for at least 3 days. Do not forget about pets! Listen to direction from local authorities should evacuations become necessary.
