Severe Threat for the Ohio Valley and Lower Great Lakes

Severe thunderstorms will move into parts of the Lower Great Lakes and Ohio Valley today. Damaging wind gusts will be the primary threat with these storms.

An Enhanced Risk is in place for parts of Illinois, including Springfield, Peoria, and Decatur.

An early morning MCS brought strong winds and heavy rainfall to parts of Iowa. This same system will race across northern and central Illinois through this afternoon. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect for these areas until 3 PM CT.
