Moderate Risk for Severe Weather
The SPC has issued a Moderate risk for severe weather today across parts of the Texas panhandle. This includes Amarillo, Pampa, Borger, and Canyon.

May 7 Severe Weather Outlook
Today has the potential to bring a major severe weather outbreak with tornadoes, damaging wind gusts, and large hail.
The tornado threat for today is a 15% hatched area across the Texas panhandle. This indicates a fairly high probability for tornadoes. The SPC warns that a couple strong tornadoes will be possible.

May 7 Tornado Outlook
The initial threats with storms that develop later today will be tornadoes and very large hail. As the storms move eastward and begin to merge, damaging winds will become the prevalent threat.
