Southern Plains Severe Threat
The first day of May will bring yet another chance for severe weather to parts of the Southern Plains.
Today’s Enhanced Risk area stretches across northeastern Texas. This includes Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Plano, and Garland.
All modes of severe weather will be possible with storms that develop today and tonight. The SPC warns that damaging wind gusts will likely be the main threat. However, large hail, with some 2″+ stones possible, will also be a significant threat in storms with strong updrafts.
A few tornadoes cannot be ruled out. The greatest threat for isolated tornadoes will be across the Enhanced Risk area.
