Tropical Depression 16 Forms
Tropical Depression 16 formed this morning in the southwest Caribbean off the eastern coast of Nicaragua. The storm is currently moving slowly to the north and west. This depression is expected to continue strengthening over the next few days as it continues moving through favorable conditions. It could even become Tropical Storm Nate by the end of the day.
The National Hurricane Center’s ‘cone of uncertainty’ currently includes areas from Mississippi to the western Florida coast. This indicates a possible U.S. landfall on Sunday somewhere within that cone. It is very important to note that this is still days away so exact timing and location will change.
