Lower Mississippi Valley Severe Risk

There is an Enhanced Risk of severe weather today for parts of Ark-La-Tex and the Lower Mississippi River Valley. This includes New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Shreveport in Louisiana as well as Jackson, MS.

There is already a Tornado Watch in place for portions of east Texas and Louisiana. This is in effect until 5 PM CT. There have been numerous tornado warnings within this watch area over the past few hours.

Areas within the Enhanced Risk zone can expect thunderstorms that are capable of producing large hail, damaging wind gusts, and even an isolated tornado.
