Moderate Risk in High Plains Today

There is a Moderate Risk of severe weather today in part of the High Plains including Scottsbluff, NE, and Torrington and Douglas in Wyoming. Surrounding areas of Nebraska, Wyoming, Colorado, and South Dakota are in an Enhanced Risk.

Storms that develop this afternoon are expected to produce hail, damaging wind gusts, and even a few tornadoes. The area with the highest potential for tornadoes stretches from eastern Wyoming into extreme western Nebraska.

The threat for severe weather continues to march eastward with parts of the Dakotas, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota under the risk for hail, strong winds, and tornadoes on Tuesday.
