Following Bertha
Something we were reminded of in Aug of 2004 was that you never know what a tropical storm is going to do until it does it. Hurricane Charley made landfall just south of me and up until a few hours before coming ashore it was forecasted to go well to the north by a couple hundred miles.
Now I'm not saying Bertha will impact Florida, but I will say that everyone should be watching this storm until it decides to what to do.
Hurricane/Severe Weather
I do think this storm will track westerly north westerly as a large high is located in cetral north Atlantic. This high should block it from cruising north so the southern track I like better or hint its going to track into. Though a 10% change northerly.
Next week's severe pattern is calm early mid week before stronger short waves head over northern part of USA with moist warm air from high circulating into these waves, severe threats likely to be robust to organized.
Nah, not Bertha
According to Accuweather, the GFS has Bertha swinging north long before it gets to the east coast.

Bertha or still TD2
Well at first www.fnmoc.navy.mil called it Bertha, then the NHC, and now the Navy is back to TD-2.
