Wyocena, WI Tornado Video

This video was shot by SevereStudios Associate Chaser Tim Purington in Wyocena, WI of the tornado which touched down on Friday, April 25, 2008.

Tim's Recap:
What a day. My wife and I left the house at 9am for a target somewhere between Madison and Rockford. My main chase laptop crashed. Then spent the rest of the drive trying to get my backup laptop going. Scrambled enough to get a stream and a little data. Made one last stop 10 miles south of Portage, looked at a radar sweep and decided to turn back north to wait for the severe warned cell coming up towards Portage. By time we caught it, a nice wall cloud dropping. Followed it for awhile but no tornado.

Then the fun starts. I call Kory Hartman for a data update to see if this cell I was on was doing anything (remember I had limited info). I tell him where I am (GPS DOWN) he says ""Holy crap! Turn back south to hwy 16 and 22. Huge hook coming right your way. So I go to a bridge overpass for good view and wait. The rotation is just to my west and going to pass just north of me. But wait I see I new one forming just south of that, heading right for us! The rotation to the south of the one to our west of course is the one that drops the tornado right in our path! At the end of this clip we are screeming south to get away and barely made it. Apparently by looking at the rest of the stream not much else of the tornado is really visible. Anyway great day for me. Not so good for the wife. Scared the hell out of her!
