Includes a shelf cloud time lapse and video of damage across the Lansing, Michigan area including at the State Capital. The squall line caused widespread wind damage and flash flooding across lower Michigan. Fatalities are being reported: Spring Lake, Ottawa County, MI: *** 1 FATAL, 1 INJ *** TWO FOOT DIAMETER TREE FELL ON CAR IN MOTION... KILLING DRIVER AND RESULTING IN MINOR INJURIES TO THE ONE PASSENGER Ravenna, Ottawa County, MI: *** 1 FATAL *** TREE FELL ON WOMAN AS SHE WAS WALKING IN CHESTER TOWNSHIP Saugatuck, Allegan County, MI: *** 2 FATAL *** CAR FELL 40 TO 50 FEET INTO A WASHED OUT RAVINE AFTER THE ROAD COLLAPSED FROM THE WEIGHT OF THE CAR DRIVING OVER IT. Yeah, the NWS ended up
Yeah, the NWS ended up rating the Eaton County tornado as EF-1. They didn't attribute the death to the Tornado which I found a bit odd. I asked about it on Monday and never received an answer. I am not sure what their thinking was.
